How Long Does Gym Floor Refinishing Take?

When planning to refinish a gym floor one of the most important questions is How long will it take?  Because modern day gyms are used as multi-purpose rooms it is often difficult to keep them closed for very long.

Gym Floor Recoating:

Screening and re-coating a gym floor only takes 1 or 2 days (2 days for 2 coats of polyurethane).  After the work is completed we recommend keeping off of the floor for an additional 3-5 days while the finish cures enough to resume activities.

Gym Floor Sanding, Painting, and Finishing:

Sanding your gym floor to bare wood takes longer than an annual recoat.  Most Gyms can be completed in about 7-10 days.  After completion, we recommend keeping off of the floor for a week while the finish cures enough to resume activities.
