Gym Floor Refinishing in Warren County, NJ
Sanding, yearly recoats, repairs, game lines and new maple floors for Warren County schools, from Phillipsburg to Hackettstown.
Close to home, even in the far west of the state
Warren County is rural, spread out and full of small districts, but it is not far for us. We drive out Route 80 and Route 46 from Wayne for walkthroughs and jobs all the time.
Warren County gyms see heavy use for their size. A small district gym can host PE, lunch, assemblies, youth leagues and summer rec, so the finish wears faster than you might expect. We look at how the room is used and recommend a yearly screen and recoat, a repair, or a full sand and refinish based on what the floor actually needs.

Small districts, one gym, a busy calendar
Many Warren County schools, like those in Harmony, Knowlton, Hope, Frelinghuysen, Allamuchy, Oxford and Lopatcong, have one gym that does everything. Regional high schools host league games and want a floor that plays and looks the part, and private schools and colleges in the county have their own schedules to work around.
We keep it simple: one walkthrough, one written proposal, one team for the floor, the lines and the wall pads, and a firm date for when you get the gym back.

What we do for Warren County gyms
The only wood gym floors we work on are maple, and one team handles the whole job:
- Sanding & refinishing: sanded to bare maple, new lines and logos, new seal and finish
- Screen & recoat: the dustless yearly coat that keeps the finish protecting the wood
- Repairs: dead spots, damaged boards and water damage
- New maple gym floors: tear-out and replacement
- Game lines & logos: basketball, volleyball, pickleball and center-court art
- Gym wall padding: standard and custom printed pads
How long the gym is out of use: a screen and recoat is usually 1 day of work plus 3 to 5 days of dry time, and it is dustless. A full sand and refinish takes 8 to 10 working days plus about a week for the finish to cure, and our sanders catch about 98% of the dust.

Frequently asked questions
Do you travel to Warren County?
Yes. We work all over Warren County, from Phillipsburg and Belvidere to Hackettstown and Blairstown.
Our floor is old and uneven. Do we need a new floor or a refinish?
It depends on the wood that is left, the subfloor and any moisture problems. We check all three on a free walkthrough. Sometimes a full sand and refinish is enough, and sometimes replacement makes more sense.
Why do gaps open up in our gym floor every winter?
Dry winter heat shrinks maple, so small gaps are normal and usually close in spring. Wide gaps, loose boards or cupping should be checked.
Can you do wall pads at the same time?
Yes. We supply and install standard and custom printed wall pads, often in the same summer as the floor work.
