Gym Floor Refinishing in Camden County, NJ
Sanding, yearly screen and recoats, repairs and game lines for Camden County schools, clubs, churches and rec centers.
Every kind of gym, close together
Camden County packs a lot of gyms into a small area. There are city schools in Camden, big suburban districts like Cherry Hill, Gloucester Township and Pennsauken, regional high school districts, plus Catholic high schools, private clubs, churches and the county college in Blackwood.
Each of those floors wears differently. A club or church gym may be used seven days a week and need a recoat more than once a year. A middle school gym might get by with one recoat a year and a full sand every several years. We look at how the room is used, not just how the floor looks, and recommend the service that fits.

Older floors, newer finishes
Many Camden County gyms are in buildings from the 1950s through the 1970s, and some still have the original maple. A floor like that can often be sanded and refinished again, as long as there is enough wood left above the tongue. We check that on the walkthrough and tell you straight if a sanding makes sense or if the floor is near the end of its life.
When we sand, our machines catch about 98% of the dust, so offices, classrooms and hallways stay clean. When we screen and recoat, the job is dustless. We use MFMA-approved finishes and MFMA-certified vendor products, and we keep up with MFMA standards on every job.

What we do for Camden County gyms
The only wood gym floors we work on are maple, and one team handles the whole job:
- Sanding & refinishing: sanded to bare maple, new lines and logos, new seal and finish
- Screen & recoat: the dustless yearly coat that keeps the finish protecting the wood
- Repairs: dead spots, damaged boards and water damage
- New maple gym floors: tear-out and replacement
- Game lines & logos: basketball, volleyball, pickleball and center-court art
- Gym wall padding: standard and custom printed pads
How long the gym is out of use: a screen and recoat is usually 1 day of work plus 3 to 5 days of dry time, and it is dustless. A full sand and refinish takes 8 to 10 working days plus about a week for the finish to cure, and our sanders catch about 98% of the dust.

Frequently asked questions
How do we know if we need a recoat or a full sand?
If the finish is dull and scuffed but the wood and lines are intact, a screen and recoat is usually enough. If the finish is worn through, the wood is gray or stained, or you want new lines and logos, it is time for a full sand and refinish.
Can our original maple floor be sanded again?
Usually, if there is enough wood left above the tongue. We check on a free walkthrough before recommending anything.
Do you work with clubs and churches, not just schools?
Yes. We work for schools, colleges, clubs, churches, YMCAs and rec centers. Busy club gyms sometimes benefit from more than one recoat a year.
Can you work around evening and weekend programs?
Yes. Tell us your league, church and rec program dates and we will schedule the work, and the dry or cure time, around them.
