Gym Floor Refinishing in Gloucester County, NJ
Sanding, yearly recoats, repairs, game lines and printed wall pads for Gloucester County schools, colleges and rec centers.
Floors and pads that show school pride
Gloucester County schools take their gyms seriously. Gyms from Washington Township and Deptford to Monroe Township, Mullica Hill, Woolwich and Franklinville host big crowds for league games and tournaments, and the gym is the first room many visitors see.
Printed wall pads are a big part of that look. They look their best over a clean, glossy maple floor with sharp lines, and we can handle both in the same project so the colors match. See our gym wall padding page for examples.

Getting the timing right in South Jersey
South Jersey summers are hot and humid, and that matters for floor work. Finish needs the right temperature and humidity to dry and cure properly, so we ask that the building air conditioning or dehumidifiers run during the job. If a building has no air in the summer, we will plan around it and tell you how it changes the schedule.
Most districts book a full sanding in July so the floor is cured before fall sports, and a screen and recoat once a year in between. College and county programs often fit work between semesters. If you have more than one gym, we can do them back to back so the second is ready while the first is curing.

What we do for Gloucester County gyms
The only wood gym floors we work on are maple, and one team handles the whole job:
- Sanding & refinishing: sanded to bare maple, new lines and logos, new seal and finish
- Screen & recoat: the dustless yearly coat that keeps the finish protecting the wood
- Repairs: dead spots, damaged boards and water damage
- New maple gym floors: tear-out and replacement
- Game lines & logos: basketball, volleyball, pickleball and center-court art
- Gym wall padding: standard and custom printed pads
How long the gym is out of use: a screen and recoat is usually 1 day of work plus 3 to 5 days of dry time, and it is dustless. A full sand and refinish takes 8 to 10 working days plus about a week for the finish to cure, and our sanders catch about 98% of the dust.

Yes. We sand and refinish maple gym floors, paint lines and logos, and supply custom printed wall pads, so one team handles the whole gym.
Does summer humidity affect refinishing?
Yes. Finish dries and cures best in a cool, dry building. We ask that the air or dehumidifiers run during the job, and we plan the schedule around your building.
How long is the gym closed for a full sand?
Plan on 8 to 10 working days plus about a week for the finish to cure. Our sanders catch about 98% of the dust.
