Bergen County has 70 towns, and most of them run their own school district. That means a lot of small K-8 gyms, a handful of big regional high schools, and a long list of parish and private schools. We have worked in all three.
Working in Bergen County, NJ
Our shop is in Wayne, right over the Passaic County line, so Bergen County is home turf. We can usually get to a Bergen gym for a walkthrough the same week you call, and our team is not fighting bridge or tunnel traffic to start at 7 AM.
Small K-8 districts tend to have one gym that is also the cafeteria, the assembly room and the after-school program. For those floors we plan the work around the calendar you already have: summer sanding when the building is empty, and a screen and recoat over winter or spring break when the floor just needs a fresh coat (a long weekend with a Monday holiday can work, but it’s tight).
The regional high schools and private schools usually want more: new game lines for volleyball and pickleball, a refreshed center-court logo, matching wall pads, and a floor that can handle tournaments. We handle all of that with one team, so you are not coordinating a floor company, a painter and a pad supplier.

Frequently asked questions
Do you work in every Bergen County town?
Yes. We work throughout Bergen County, from Mahwah and Upper Saddle River down to Edgewater, Fort Lee and the Meadowlands towns. Our shop in Wayne is a short drive from all of them.
When should a Bergen County school schedule a full sanding?
Most districts book sanding and refinishing for July or early August, when the building is empty and the new finish has time to cure before fall sports. Call in the winter or early spring to get on the summer schedule.
How much does gym floor refinishing cost in Bergen County?
Full sanding and refinishing in New Jersey typically runs about $3 to $7 per square foot, depending on the size of the gym, the finish, the condition of the floor and how much line and logo work you want. We give a firm number after a free on-site visit.
Can you match our school colors and logo?
Yes. We repaint game lines and center-court logos in your colors, and we can supply matching custom wall pads.
