Essex County runs from Newark’s city schools to the suburban districts to the west. We work across all of it, including charter networks, YMCAs, JCCs and parish schools.
Working in Essex County, NJ
Many Essex County gyms sit inside older multi-story buildings. That affects how we plan the job: where the dust-collecting sanders and finish can come in, how much ventilation the space has, and how long the gym needs to stay closed while the finish cures. We work this out on the walkthrough so there are no surprises.
Charter schools and community organizations often share one gym across many programs. A screen and recoat over a school break, or a long weekend with a Monday holiday (tight, but it works), is a good way to refresh a heavily used floor without losing weeks of use.
Suburban districts here usually plan bigger summer projects: full sanding, new game lines, logo work and sometimes new wall pads in the same window. We can do all of it with one team and one schedule.

Planning a budget? Our gym floor refinishing cost guide explains what drives the price.
How long the gym is out of use: a dustless screen and recoat is the quick option between sandings. A full sand and refinish takes 8 to 10 working days plus about a week for the finish to cure, and our sanders catch about 98% of the dust.
We keep up with MFMA standards and use MFMA-approved finishes and MFMA-certified vendor products. We stand behind our work and our reputation proves it.

Frequently asked questions
Can you work in older school buildings with tight access?
Yes. We look at access, ventilation and power on the walkthrough and plan the equipment and finish around the building.
How long will our gym be closed for a sanding?
It depends on the size of the floor and the finish, so we give you a schedule in the proposal. A screen and recoat is much faster than a full sanding.
Do you work with charter schools and nonprofits?
Yes. Charter schools, YMCAs, JCCs and churches are a big part of our work in Essex County.
Do you offer free estimates?
Yes. We come out, look at the floor, measure, and send a written proposal at no cost.
